I used the traditional colors of Christmas in red, green & white (with a little orange carrot nose) for my Snowman Textured Crochet Doily.
My finished size for this Christmas Textured Crochet Doily was 12″.

Snowman Textured Crochet Doily requires:

10 thread in white,
10 thread in red and green or team colors
size 7 steel hook
OPTION: black thread, orange thread, buttons, beads, or other embellishments (see below)

My finished size: 12″ in diameter

Special Stitches Used:
**dc2tog = double crochet two stitches together: yo (yarn over), insert hook into 1st st, yo, pull loop through, yo, pull thread through first 2 loops on hook, yo again, insert hook into 2nd st, yo, pull loop through, yo, pull thread through first 2 loops on hook, yo, pull thread through the 3 remaining loops on hook. A dc2tog counts as a single stitch.

**fpdc = front post double crochet: yo (yarn over), insert hook between the dc to be worked and the previous dc, yo, pull loop through, yo, and continue working as a normal dc (pull thread through first 2 loops on hook, yo, pull thread through the 2 remaining loops on hook). Using the fpdc creates a “ribbing” effect.

OPTION: If you work a normal dc instead it will still look fine.
**(no-slip-stitch-) picot = In this pattern, “picots” are worked into a chain stitch from the previous row and consist of “sc, ch 3, sc in same ch”.
OPTION: You can substitute a sc into the chain space for picots if you wish.
**magic circle = a commonly used technique more easily demonstrated than explained. Make sure the end is well-secured so it can’t come unraveled. There are many good videos online. You can also substitute a 4-ch ring
