This post is to show off four fun textured crochet hats I made. I love making crochet hats with lots of texture and I had a great deal of fun making these.
To me a crochet hat with texture is so much more appealing and attractive. Not to say that I don’t love all the other hats I’ve made, but there’s just something wonderful about being able to feel the texture. Textured hats often have more weight to them due to their intricate stitches. That’s what I love about these Four Fun Textured Crochet Hats. Along with the bonus weight is the fact that these use much more yarn than a ‘standard’ crochet hat … but that’s ok, because an added benefit is that they are often warmer on those chilly, cold fall or winter days!

Mixed Stitch Textured Crochet Hat
Well, it’s true to it’s name! This hat is a mixture of several crochet stitches, creating a unique ridges effect. Filled with fpsc’s and fpdc’s, this hat has a nice weight and is attractive as well.

Purple Swirls Textured Crochet Hat
This hat is just full of ‘ribs and ridges’ and has a nice weight to it. I’ve also attached a pom-pom to match the facial brim, making it a well balanced textured crochet hat. This hat is a little larger around due to it’s ‘bowl’ type pattern with a looser rim.

Star Stitch Textured Slouch Crochet Hat
Also true to it’s name, full of that beautiful crochet star stitch. I love the star stitch – there are different version of this stitch, each with it’s own special display. This hat also had some ‘ridges’ effect going on as well. Made with variegated I Love This Yarn, this textured crochet hat is beautiful!

Stacked Columns Textured Crochet Child Hat
This is a small sized hat that will fit a younger child. This hat was kind of an experiment for me and not an easy one at that, I might add! So much going on in this hat; fpsc’s, fpdc’s, bpdc’s, & criss-cross fpdc’s to mention a few. Turned out nice, with great texture and a very appealing look. This hat is made with Caron Simply Soft yarn, and it is definitely very soft! As I said, this is a small hat and will not fit most adults, tweens or even older children … this is one for the ‘little ones’.
