McDonald's McRib Sandwich Copycat

McDonald’s McRib Sandwich Copycat

(Printable recipe below)

Ingredients…

McRib sauce Homemade version:
1 c. ketchup
¼ c. water
¼ c. apple cider vinegar
2 Tbs. light brown sugar
1 ½ Tbs. yellow mustard
1 ½ Tbs. onion powder
1 ½ Tbs. garlic powder
1 Tbs. liquid smoke
1 ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. sweet smoked paprika
~ OR ~
1 c. of your favorite BBQ sauce
Sandwich Meat
3 lb. baby back ribs, cooked, deboned
~ OR ~
1 ½ lb. ground pork
2 Tbs. butter, melted
4 hoagie buns
12 pickles
¼ c. onion, chopped

Instructions…

1. Add the sauce ingredients into a saucepan and cook on low for 15-18 minutes or until sauce is thickened enough to coat a spoon. ~ OR ~ warm your favorite BBQ in microwave.
2. Cook the baby back ribs in a crock pot, instant pot, oven or grill as per your favorite method. ~ OR ~ Shape the ground pork into rectangular patties and cook in a skillet until done.
3. Butter the hoagie buns and toast.
4. Place hot “rib” meat on the bun and spread BBQ sauce over the meat.
5. Top with chopped or sliced onions and dill pickles on the sandwich.
